CRST Redeye

CRST Redeye by Catapult Records

Test Press

The test press' arrived into catapult today, cant explain what a buzz it was. Mainly having listen the these tracks from CRST and the Darkhouse family countless times as sound files on a computer, to finally hear them pressed up as god intended cant be explained. The mastering by the guys at Curved press is second to none, when the first kick drum lands hits on Stabwound and redeye - Wow!

Had to update on facebook as soon as they arrived and got a response from Tony from CRST that he was heading in pronto to check it out on the shop system. Tony agreed - sounds brilliant. Im not sure that a producer gets the same kick from an MP3 launching as they do from seeing their labour on a piece of vinyl. From my point of view it's brilliant to be selling a record made by a long serving customer who's been at the counter of Catapult ever since he was barely tall enough to look over the top. What a legend, he still gets kicks out of vinyl.

Looking forward to the next one... watch this space.

Man o Man-zine

Just confirmed with editor of Manzine Kevin Braddock that we'll be a stockist from the next issue, this is likely to be a very early announcement as the next issue will not be out for at least two months. However, we will be getting our hands on a handful of the current issue, which, we understand is almost sold out. If thats the case we may hoard a few copies hoping that one day they'll be worth a few quid on ebay.

If you've not read the magazine yet, think of it as the print version of a vinyl, it will appeal to (dare we say it) older heads who are happy to call it a night after 3 pints on the weekend. We include ourselves in this demographic, but whats the point in being out on a saturday night when Garry Lineker is on? We may need to rethink this one.

Anyway we're planning on getting in touch with a few more editors over the next few weeks to try and get a few more magazines into Catapult. Any suggestions drop us an email.

Stab Wound- Darkhouse Family

Stab Wound- Darkhouse Family by Catapult Records

Daedelus in the Basement

Daedelus was in town on Friday night at CAI for what is rumoured to be the best night we've had in the city for a long time (citation needed!). Dj support from Darkhouse Family and Mr Healan, means Cardiff was represented by some of the cities finest. Anyhow Daedelus (Alfred) called by to say Hi on Friday afternoon and luckily his remix for Quantic on Tru Thoughts had arrived in store, it was a privilege to check it out with the man to give me some of the back story around the remix, he gives a lot of credit to Computer Jay. Alfred took time to check out some of the UK names he's been hearing a lot about, mainly South Wales finest CRST - which he described as "very UK", he did pick up a few old skool classics on CD Nice guy, Nice remix, Nice afternoon.
