Xtrah Set The Levels Critical Presents Modulation at www.catapult.co.uk
Xtrah Set The Levels Critical Presents Modulation at www.catapult.co.uk here. Teaming up with MC Codebreaker for ‘Set The Levels’, Xtrah brings the lights down low for a creeping piece of hi-fi future funk. Cinematic soundscapes draw us into the intro as the crunching break drives on with Codebreaker’s low slung lyrical flows running over the top of deep sub and jerking mid-range flourishes. Expertly executed for another quality slice of Modulations music. As we move on ‘Regain Control’ aims to take us back into some proper break and bass territory with incredible vibes reminiscent of earlier Bristol beats. A squelching b-line, drifting pads and heavily fat syncopated drums that roll out in fine fashion to the end…that’s all you need really.
Joker Skitta - I Think You Should Know on Kapsize www.catapult.co.uk
pre order Joker Skitta - I Think You Should Know on Kapsize www.catapult.co.uk here. Joker has been riding a rocket propelled trajectory with an exponential
rise in popularity since he first caught the attention of underground
DJs and bloggers alike, back in 2007. Signed to major player 4AD for his
debut LP ‘The Vision’, dropping late last year Joker has won the hearts
and minds of both respected underground players and pop-loving youth
alike. Here he returns to his home imprint for a rare excursion away
from 4AD with the monstrous, infectious fresh cut rhythm that is our
lead track ‘Skitta’. You know it must be a big lead if when you flip
for the AA side and find the almighty Newham Generals featuring in
secondary place! ‘I Think You Should Know’ sees Footsie and D Double
roll out a shoulder popping beat in fine style while fans of all things
instrumental can also enjoy an extended instrumental version of the same
track. Huge release all round.
Siren - Vicious Circle Snorkel (SPY Remix) - Solitude on Siren Records UK www.catapult.co.uk
pre order Siren - Vicious Circle Snorkel (SPY Remix) - Solitude on Siren Records UK www.catapult.co.uk here. Siren Records has up until now served exclusively as the release
platform for Siren, a joint alias of Vicious Circle and Universal
Project’s Ruxspin, with their 2010 album Broken Silence. The definitive
track of that release, Snorkel, continues to get regular airplay two
years down the line in both its original incarnation and the S.P.Y
remix, which finally gets a release this coming May as the A-side of
Siren Records very first single release (SIREN001). This surprising
second outing for the seemingly limited label also enjoys an excellent
submission from Vicious Circle, solo-producing Solitude on the flipside,
a bleak, grimey and sonically timeless roller, characterised by its
brooding bassline, amen break snippets and short, sharp vocal samples.

on. Safe to say itll be worth getting up early tomorrow morning and popping
along for some real vinyl treats. We open at 9 and as usual will be well
