The label has long been championing Recondite’s work. The track ‘Backbone’ was a notable highlight of Scuba’s revered DJ Kicks mix before the latter applied his own hand on a full-throttle remix of ‘Jaded’, to close out On Acid. Here, Recondite defines both remixes in the form of two journeys taken at opposing times of the day, a late-night drive and an early-morning walk. In both, the energy and aggression of Scuba’s original is drawn increasingly into a more desolate landscape as glacial synth lines bleed over one another into depths lurking far below the planes of convention.
